Yarn

I am learning to crochet. I love it. I love all things crafty, but crochet has so many advantages. It's so portable, you can carry it with you pretty much anywhere. It's compact (unless you're making an afghan). You also can carry on conversation and crochet and watch tv and crochet.

Along with crocheting comes this new obsession for yarn. It is the new scrapbooking supplies. Meaning, everytime I go to Walmart, Big Lots, anywhere, I feel the urge to buy some. However, I would like to share some of my lovely purchases from this week. I found 8 skeins of wool in a pretty pink heather color (named Cotton Candy) for 25 cents a skein at Goodwill. wow! I will take a picture later and add to this post.

I ordered this handpainted yarn from http://www.etsy.com/ It looks gorgeous, and I got an email saying that it had been shipped. I hope it turns out as neat as I think it is.

I'm hoping to make this shawl with the yarn. I will decide for sure when I get the yarn and "pet" it. Its the Sweet Pea Shawl from Stitch n Bitch Crochet- the Happy Hooker book. If I do this pattern, it is a HUGE crochet project for me. My attention span is usually the length of a scarf!

Proverbs 31: 13

She seeks wool and flax

And willingly works with her hands.

Hey LeeAnn! I found your blog through Michelle's... I started to knit and crochet last year and finally quit after trying to make Taylor a pair of bloomers that ended up big enough for me. :(

I still have several colors of wool yarn if you are interested. If we ever get the chance to finally meet... I'll bring them to you!

Stacey,

I haven't made anything that you have to gage yet... I'm scared the same thing would happen to me! I'd love the yarn if we meet up!
