Dolly's birthday

My poodle, Dolly and I have the same birthday. She turned 12 on Valentine's day. Both her brothers, Cooper and Colt, were in attendance at her birthday party. I baked a cake. They seemed to enjoy it. The boys liked my cooking more than Dolly did, though.

Dog Birthday Cake Recipe
2c flour
4 jars baby food (any meat)
1 can dog food
½ c honey
½ c olive oil
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 T baking powder

Bake at 350 for 40 minutes in a sheet cake pan. Ice with a paste of dog food and garnish with dog biscuits.

Dolly's ER Visit

I've had my poodle Dolly for 4 years now. She was 7 years old when I adopted her; so now she's 11. She's awfully spunky for an old lady. Her former babysitter couldn't believe how old she was. Well on Sunday, we had quite a scare. Dolly had been having some loose stools since Friday, but Sunday night it ended up being bloody. She also had no energy, wouldn't even get on the bed with Ryan and I. Ryan called Dr. Badger, a vet, and he told us we could give her Pedialyte or bring her in. I decided we should bring her in. She ended up getting an IV and an overnight stay. She didn't have any parasites or anything, and she's doing well now. She has some antibiotics to take, and I'm amazed at how easily I can get her to take them. But, it was scary, especially to leave her all night at the clinic. She's never been crated for long periods of time. I"m not sure who it was harder for---mom or Dolly. This is an old picture of her--- obviously not from now the grass is too green.
